NextCheck Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

atelier-flare ("we") respects your privacy in your use of the iOS app NextCheck ("the App") and handles information in accordance with the following policy.

The App does not collect or transmit any personal information whatsoever.

1. Information Stored

The App stores the following information on your device:

These settings are stored only on your device and in your own iCloud account, and are never sent to any server, including ours. The App does not keep its own copy of your event data — events live in the OS calendar.

2. Sync via iCloud (CloudKit)

If you are signed in to iCloud, the settings above are synced to your own iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. We cannot access this data. Sync can be turned off in the App's settings.

3. Access to OS Calendars

The App reads event information (title, start and end times, location, notes, and so on) from your OS calendars (iCloud, Google, Exchange, and others) through the iOS EventKit framework and shows it on the dashboard. You can also create, edit, and delete events from within the App, and those changes are written back to the OS calendar. Event information read by the App is never transmitted anywhere, including to our servers.

4. Notifications and Badge

The App optionally asks for notification permission to deliver local notifications for event starts and ends, and to show a badge on the app icon (such as the number of events remaining today). All notifications are local and processed entirely on your device — no push notification server is used.

5. AI Comment via Apple Intelligence (Experimental, Optional)

When enabled in settings, the App uses Apple Intelligence's Foundation Models framework to show an AI comment on the dashboard. Today's event titles, their times, and the current time are provided as input for generation. All processing happens on-device and nothing is sent to Apple's servers or any third party. When the feature is off, no related data is processed; on devices without Apple Intelligence, the feature is hidden entirely.

6. Tracking, Advertising, and Accounts

The App uses no user-tracking mechanisms or analytics SDKs. It displays no advertising. No account is required.

7. Crash Reports

The App relies solely on Apple's standard crash reporting (only when you have opted in to sharing with Apple). No third-party crash reporting service is used.

8. Deleting Your Data

Uninstalling the App deletes all of its settings from your device. Settings synced to iCloud can be removed from the iOS Settings app by deleting the App's iCloud data. Events in your OS calendars are not deleted — manage them with the standard Calendar app.
