CalcCheck Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
atelier-flare ("we") respects your privacy in your use of the iOS app CalcCheck ("the App") and handles information in accordance with the following policy.
The App does not collect or transmit any data, including personal information.
1. Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following information on your device:
- Formulas and results you enter (pinned results and the archive), and the notes and colors you add to them
- App settings (calculation mode, appearance, button style, background, read-aloud, and so on)
- The background image you choose (one image, resized)
- Usage statistics such as launch count, calculation count and active time (used only for the About screen and for deciding when to ask for a review)
This information is stored only on your device and in your own iCloud account, and is never sent to any server, including ours.
2. Sync via iCloud
If you are signed in to iCloud and "iCloud Sync" is on in the App's settings, pinned results, the archive and some preferences (such as appearance) are synced to your own iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit and iCloud key-value storage. We cannot access this data. Sync can be turned off in the App's settings.
3. Photos
To set a background image, the App uses the standard iOS photo picker. The App does not need access to your photo library; it only receives the one image you choose and stores it on your device.
4. Read Aloud
Formulas and results are read aloud with the standard iOS speech synthesizer. Processing happens on your device, and nothing is sent to any server, including ours.
5. Review Requests
After you have used the App for a while, it may ask for an App Store review through the standard iOS prompt. The App only stores the date it last asked, and never receives the content of your review.
6. Tracking, Advertising, and Accounts
The App uses no user-tracking mechanisms or analytics tools. It displays no advertising. No account is required.
7. Crash Reports
The App relies solely on Apple's standard crash reporting (only when you have opted in to sharing with Apple). No third-party crash reporting service is used.
8. Deleting Your Data
"Clear History" in the App's settings deletes all pinned results and the archive (if you use iCloud sync, they are deleted from all synced devices). Uninstalling the App deletes its data from your device. Data synced to iCloud can be removed from iCloud storage management in the iOS Settings app.
